Hey guys,
I’ve been involved with NaPodPoMo since the beginning, in 2007, so I have a little history for you. NaPodPoMo was something started by Jennifer Navarrette. She noticed that there was a NaNoWriMo, for writers, and another thirty-day effort for bloggers, but none for podcasters. She created the ning site, that you guys don’t like, probably because it was the easiest way to coordinate everyone back in 2007.
You guys said that Russ Turley registered his site in 2008, (one year after Jennifer Navarette organized NaPodPoMo). So, clearly, he is attempting to pull in people who are looking for the actual NaPodPoMo page by selfishly redirecting them to his own, personal, website. Personally, I think that is a really nasty thing to do. It is dishonest, because he is implying that he is the one who started NaPodPoMo, (when he did not). Case in point, you guys may have thought that NaPodPoMo was his idea, (when really, it isn’t).
It’s pretty sad when podcasters feel that they need to increase page hits, or downloads, by doing something nefarious like that. It must mean that the quality of his shows is lacking. I know I wasn’t pleased with the few episodes I listened to.
